William Hill Scottish Cup Semi-Final
Hearts progress to the Scottish Cup Final.
Hearts proved to be too strong for Inverness as the Jambos ensured another trip back to Hampden in May.
A well defended first half from the Highlanders was able to soak up the constant pressure from Craig Levein's men.
Inverness ran up the field but failed to trouble the Hearts keeper.
The second half would tell a differet tale. Four minutes into the restart Hearts broke the deadlock. A short corner into the box broke to Ikpeazu and the big striker fired home from close range.
Joe Chalmers hit a free kick destined for the top corner, but a flying Zdenek Zlamal had other ideas, the goalkeeper throws himself at the shot, tipping it onto the bar.
Olly Lee's corner found the head of Inverness midfielder Charlie Trafford, whose attempted headed clearance flew straight into the path of John Souttar, storming in at the back post, scooping the ball over the line.
Substitute Sean Clayre would then fire a penalty past Inverness' number one - sending Ridgers the wrong way.
Hearts continued to dominate the remainder of the match. The full-time whistle ensured Hearts would be returning to a Scottish Cup final at the National Stadium for the first time since their cup triumph in 2012.
